
UBS Global Wealth Management raised its year-end target for the S&P 500 index (.SPX) to 6,200 from its prior forecast of 6,000, banking on softening trade tensions and expectations of resilient quarterly earnings.
UBS’s current target implies about a 1 per cent upside to the benchmark index’s last close of 6,141.02. M ajor brokerages Citigroup and Barclays also lifted their targets for the index earlier this month .
