Lemesos International Documentary Festival mourns together with those affected by the wildfire and the whole of Cyprus for the loss of lives, properties and the immense ecological disaster which took place in our district last week. Χιλιάδες άνθρωποι σε Ελλάδα και Τουρκία αναγκάστηκαν να εγκαταλείψουν τα σπίτια τους, καθώς οι πυροσβέστες στις δύο χώρες προσπαθούν να θέσουν υπό έλεγχο τις πυρκαγιές που τροφοδοτούνται από ισχυρούς ανέμους και καύσωνα. Το κτίριο της Όπερας του Καΐρου καταστράφηκε από φωτιά, το 1971. Ο πυροσβεστικός σταθμός βρισκόταν μέσα στο ίδιο κτίριο.
