
The European Union saw a notable increase in the consumption of mineral fertilisers throughout 2024, according to Eurostat, as agricultural producers applied a total of 9.8 million tonnes of nitrogen and phosphorus across the bloc.
This figure marks a 6.0 per cent increase compared with the 9.2 million tonnes used during the previous year.
Despite the recent rise, the total quantity remains 15.8 per cent below the relative peak recorded
