The police said on Friday they have been receiving complaints about fraudulent messages urging recipients to pay out-of-court settlements for traffic violation fines.
The messages are being sent through social media platforms and to mobile phones, and contain links to pay the purported fines.
The police remind the public that they do not contact people in this way.
