Nicosia municipality and the Cyprus association of visual artists, known as “Phytorio”, have clashed over access to a historic arts venue in the municipal garden. The dispute centres on an unauthorised change of locks and competing claims to the site.
The municipality holds a non-exclusive licence for the old nursery building. On July 11, it announced that representatives of the artists’ association replaced the locks without prior notice or consent.
