British food prices accelerated by the most since March 2024 in June, pushing up overall shop prices rose for the first time in nearly a year, according to a survey from a retail industry group which warned price pressures may rise again.
Food prices jumped by 3.7 per cent compared with June last year, speeding up from a 2.8 per cent rise in May, the British Retail Consortium said.
