A 45-year-old man from Paphos lost €8,500 after falling for an internet scam , the police said on Monday.
The police said the man told them that on Sunday, he had received a message on his mobile phone, which contained a link.
He clicked the link, with the website it loaded asking him to enter his credit card details and then “proceed to a second verification”.
