
The United Nations secretary-general’s personal envoy for Cyprus, María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar, is expected to visit the island from May 24 to 31 for a new round of contacts aimed at reviving peace efforts, a UN official has confirmed.
Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said the visit is part of ongoing efforts to explore prospects for renewed negotiations between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.
