Fire near highway burning vehicles, threatens buildings

A fire that broke out at midday on Tuesday in dry grass and wild vegetation near the highway bypass to the new Tseri roundabout has spread to old vehicles and spare parts in a yard and is now threatening buildings.

Fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis said the fire was on both sides of the motorway and that six fire trucks from Nicosia were struggling to put it out.
