The fire brigade were on Saturday evening called to a fire which had broken out in a stack of around 300 bales of hay near the Larnaca suburb of Aradippou, fire brigade spokesman Andreas Kettis said on Sunday.
He said three fire engines responded to the fire, and that all animals and buildings nearby “received protection and were not in danger”.
He added that firefighters had “worked throughout the night”
