Larnaca court on Tuesday remanded a 33-year-old man in police custody in connection with the alleged smuggling of 21 Syrians that arrived at Famagusta on Monday.
The man was arrested on suspicion of people smuggling after a boat carrying 21 people was spotted off the coast of Cape Greco at around 1am on Monday, police said.
The vessel was later towed to shore, where officers took the suspect into custody.
