An 18-year-old learner driver was caught speeding at 185 km/h on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway on Sunday night, traffic police said on Monday.
He was stopped by a routine check on the highway at 00.30 on Monday morning.
Learner drivers are not permitted on the highway, while the teen was not accompanied by a driving instructor.
After he was stopped, police carried out a drugs test, which was positive.
