“Ceramics, one of the earliest forms of human artistic expression, has played a central role in Cyprus’ rich cultural history,” say organisers of an upcoming exhibition. “The abundance of high-quality clay in Cyprus fostered the development of ceramics as a significant artistic practice.”
Paying tribute to Cyprus’ cultural past, the group exhibition Shared Heritage, Shaped by Fire brings together 12 Greek and Turkish Cypriot contemporary ceramicists to present original works.
