Violent clashes between youths and police, 23 arrested

Dozens of youths were arrested across Limassol, Larnaca and Nicosia after clashes with police officers that left destruction in their wake damaging police cars, school buildings, Christmas decorations and rubbish bins.

In total, 23 people were arrested most of whom are 12 and 13 years old, according to police spokeswoman Kyriaki Lambrianidou.
