Torrential rains wreaked havoc across Famagusta on Wednesday morning, flooding roads and premises and prompting a swift response from authorities.
The fire service reported attending to more than 20 incidents, with four crews working to pump water from flooded basements, open storm drains, and tow stranded vehicles in Sotira and Paralimni.
While the rains caused significant disruptions, farmers in the Kokkinochoria potato-growing region welcomed the downpour, calling it “very beneficial.”
