1783	Ο αρχιστράτηγος Τζορτζ Ουάσινγκτον παραιτείται από τον Ηπειρωτικό Στρατό των Η.Π.Α.
1975	Η τρομοκρατική οργάνωση «17 Νοέμβρη» δολοφονεί τον σταθμάρχη της CIA στην Αθήνα Ρίτσαρντ Γουέλς, 45 ετών, με τρεις σφαίρες σχεδόν εξ επαφής. Το περιστατικό συνέβη στις 22:00 έξω από την οικία του Γουέλς στο Ψυχικό, μόλις είχε επιστρέψει με τη σύζυγό του και το παιδί του από τη δεξίωση του Αμερικανού πρέσβη Κιούμπιτς στο Χίλτον. Τυπικά είχε το τίτλο του α΄ γραμματέα της αμερικανικής πρεσβείας. Ήταν το πρώτο χτύπημα της 17 Ν.
